Keep in mind your commitment to arrange matches with your opponents at mutually agreeable times during the period of each league. Always better to do this earlier rather than later!

Main Boxes - Participation

The main box leagues are open to all PEAK racquets members. Junior members are welcome to participate in the main box leagues but when arranging matches must be prepared to offer availability to play during peak times. If a mutually convenient time cannot be arranged with a full member by a junior a walkover should be offered.

Mid Week Boxes – Participation

Mid Week Boxes are open to all racquets members – OFF PEAK and PEAK. All players should have availability to play during the prevailing OFF PEAK membership hours.

Ratings Matches

Incoming stronger players who wish to progress more quickly may arrange ratings matches under box conditions with players in higher boxes. Successful results may be taken into account when the subsequent league is prepared. For new club members this is a good way to meet people and quickly find a range of opponents. Losing a ratings match will have no affect on your current box position. Please inform prior to playing ratings matches and of the result - win or lose.

Note that the club will now submit all ratings matches to the LTA. Email to submit a ratings match.

Administration

Note that as a general guide:-

  • End dates for box leagues will be strictly observed.
  • Changes to box leagues will not be made during the course of a league (even if a mistake has been made).
  • Players failing to play a single match may be demoted 4 boxes or removed from the following league. Please contact the Administrator if there are any special reasons for being unable to play.

Disputes

Unfortunately in a club with such a big membership as Riverside there may be a dispute between players either with regard to a match result or managing to arrange a mutually agreeable time. The club will endeavour to manage each situation as tactfully as possible, however, correspondence will be kept to a minimum and the Box League Administrator’s decision is final under all circumstances.
